It appears that some of the members of this group have sided with the Union against the opinion of another elected official in the group, an individual with years of on sight experience. If they want a “Rubber Stamp Board” that goes along with the union representing the firefighters, who will be speaking for or representing an opposing view? Who represents the local taxpayer? Reading this story and looking at the issues, Mr. Prather has taken a position that may not be politically correct, but consider an Emergency Responder at the location where people are on the floor and need to be extracted and an individual on sight cannot physically accomplish the task. If that person were a male, there would be no issue, but if the person was a female, a 5’ 2“ female and could not carry the load, well that’s just too bad, let’s get rid of Bill Prather. Wrong! Something is wrong with this picture.
