I'm very confused as to why James Logan got into NCS, especially over Acalanes. james Logan lost what, all their matches to Monte Vista? They were also beaten by Acalanes at the Northgate tournament, the scores were not close. Acalanes has been hot too, 5-0 in their last 5. But what's done is done, though I'm a little upset with the decisions oh well.

i was at the meeting and the deciding factor and why james logan got into ncs is because they beat CAL which is the #1 seed

Thanks for posting the pairings Backrow.

? host sites for 1st round? (a guess: first team listed of each pair) Correct - The higher seed is the host, unless a league champion is a lower seed.

The pairings have not been posted yet, but the NCS site has a lot of info that may interest people, and they'll update the pairings this afternoon.

D1 is correct, all of the higher seeds are where the games will be played. keep an eye on the granada and dls game...the winner of that has a chance at knocking cal out early.

acalanes... no way they should have made ncs. they got fourth in the dfal.. im still surprised concord has made it into ncs. Acalanes has no star players and most def cannot compete with any of the top 10 ranked teams. James Logan was the league champs i believe and that gave them the automatic birth. so maybe next year acalanes. you might just win because you lose all the teams with talent in your league next year.. northgate, concord, and college park.

Washington was the league champion for the MVAL. Logan did not have an automatic birth.

We think the 1st rounds biggest potential upsets (higher rated team falling) are with 2 good teams who NEED to come back from emotional slumps. ie. Northgate and Granada.

Because Monte Vista is playing well and DeLaSalle has...all that institutional pride...which can help... or be a weight.

i dont see any major upsets 1st round, but quarterfinals i see CAL having a VERY tough time beating either granada OR de la salle. both teams will be tough for them and granada is inside cal's head with their win against them last time.

also foothill and amador would be good chance for upset. but foothill has the upper hand on them i think still. i say we let it all play out though...

Actually the official records in the DFAL were College Park 14-2, Northgate 14-2, Acalanes 11-5, Concord 11-5. check the prep scoreboard if you dont believe me, but to me i think those records show College Park and Northgate tied for first and Acalanes and Concord tied for second, though I mean thats just how I see it, not sure what you're looking at. Cant compete with any of the top ten ranked teams? the only teams Acalanes has played that are going into NCS are College Park, no argument there, Northgate, Acalanes took them to the third game 26-28 and would have won if not for a bogus call but oh well, James Logan, Acalanes beat them in two quick games at the Northgate tournament, and Concord, Acalanes beat Concord in 4 games last wednesday and the last game was not close at all. Acalanes is also losing 12 seniors this year and there are only two returning varsity players next year. You can say whatever you want about not having star players they are a solid TEAM, usually thats what counts, not individual heroes.

thats still 12 seniors who arent as good as most of the other teams that actually qualified for ncs. and star players can bring a team to glory and fame. kyle sigler for northgate IS the team. probably one of the most amazing players in the dfal. but teams can also have a solid team. as well as star players. concord is a pretty solid team with star players.. justin and justin. both are amazing. as for college park they have one of the most solid teams around.. and all of them are star players and either should be mvp, first team or second team all league.

Both teams don't really have a chance to win NCS, probably not even get through the first round.

So pretty much there is a conflict to see who goes to NCS and lose one more game.

i'd say they could make it pretty interesting though, at least give the crowd a fun game, but i concur.
