I know I know..another topic about Bases Loaded...ha ha..well..I just had to put this out there because it deserves to be written about.
Tonight my family, along with my 8 yr old daughter and her friend went to BL for some desert and Karaoke. Granted it is a school night, but decided that it would be nice to get out for a bit and see just what this "Family Karaoke Night" was all about. I can't sing, and honestly, you wouldn't want to hear me either.....but my daughter can. She's been singing since she was 2. After hearing about Family Karaoke Night, I thought it would be nice to have her get her feet wet with singing in front of a crowd. But this is not why I am writing this post...
I wanted to rant about how enjoyable this event is at BL. The song selections were endless...ranging in country music, to hip hop, to oldies but goodies, children's classics, rock, pop....you name it. The atmosphere was fabulous and yes, there were families there. My daughter and her friend even line danced for the first time. A good time was had by all. The girls can not wait to come back next Thursday and share their talent with the crowd again.
If your looking for something fun and entertaining to do with your family, then stop on by Bases Loaded after 7pm on any Thursday evening. You don't have to get up there and sing, but you never know...you might leave wishing you had.

I stopped in tonight also, only to have a beer. I enjoyed those that took to the stage to sing. I don't do karaoke but if you do check it out.

But that's an instrumental isn't it? It's appropriate though since I've never seen anyone flash money around like he does.

Thanks Donna, it was good seeing you there. Glad you had a great time. Boy, there was really a wide age group there! I kind of knew beforehand Carole and Charlie had a large group of seniors who follow their Karaoke, but it was great to see kids and grandchildren there too enjoying it. (I only heard one joke about how the bar should run a special next week on metamucil shots). LOL I would have brought my daughter, but my son's football game would have made it too late for her to come out, so we'll try for next week. It was fun! The staff really enjoyed it too. We found out who can sing and who can't. I'm happy to see all the senior citizens there, as we want to cater to everybody. Our weekend entertainment caters more to the younger crowd, like me.
Shoot, next week there's a little dilemma. I was told Thursday night football is starting up, with the 49ers actually playing next Thursday. I hope I don't get caught in the middle of a battle between diehard 20-somethings wanting to watch the end of the 49ers and the seniors citizens who want their karaoke. Right now, I can't move Karaoke to another night because our use permit allows Thurs through Saturday. I could push the Karaoke start time back until after the game, but I could tell the Karaoke people really like the early start time. It went until 11, but it was pretty well cleared out except for the staff that last hour.
There were some diners and some regulars also in, and they seemed to enjoy the Karaoke entertainment as opposed to just having a "dead" atmosphere. Those impartial folks might actually enjoy watching a fight, if one breaks out over the Karaoke followers and the 49er fans. Maybe I shouldn't show up that night?
I'm open to suggestions...
